February 26, 2024: A routine council meeting was held. Ward 4 council representatives, Councillor McGrail and Councillor Jubenville, brought forth a motion to call on Chatham-Kent Council to oppose the proposed York1 site as well as take action to oppose it. February 29, 2024: Mayor Darrin Canniff submitted a letter to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (pdf available below)
March 15, 2024: Municipal staff submitted a letter to the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (PDF available below)
April 8, 2024: A routine council meeting was held. Ward 4 council representative, Councillor McGrail brought forth the issue of the project and asked clarifying questions of Municipal staff as well as stressed the importance of opposition to this project of CK. Ward 4, Councillor Jubenville supported her statements.
